Midranges are not one interchangeable middle-speed group. The selected discs cover roller and turnover tasks, straighter line shaping and more explicitly overstable finishes. Compare the role first, then the rim and plastic you want to hold. A familiar midrange is a better reference than matching another brand’s numbers.

Check before ordering
Fox or Rollo
Compare woods/approach versatility with a roller-first role
Same-maker values; exact Halo blend and range
Hex or Pyro
Compare line shaping with an explicitly overstable role
Glow material versus Neutron-core/Proton-rim construction
Base Battleship or Sport Gladius
Compare grip-focused Base with Sport and an explicit bead
Different molds and blends, not color variants
DX Roc
Choose a familiar mold with described wear-stage progression

Choose turning, rolling or finishing roles
Within Innova’s selected Halo Star examples, Fox names straight woods shots, controlled turnovers and standstill approaches. Rollo is more specifically described for rollers and sweeping turnovers. Both are speed-five models with glide six in their supplied figures; Rollo has greater stated turn. That is a same-maker role comparison, not a promise of a particular throw.
Axiom’s Eclipse Hex and Prism Neutron Pyro offer another useful contrast. Hex is described around straight-to-stable line shaping with power-dependent turn; Pyro is explicitly positioned as overstable with a stronger stated finish in Axiom’s own figures. Choose the missing role instead of adding another mold simply because it is a midrange.
Compare the rim and the actual parts of the disc
Remix Sport Gladius explicitly has a bead, making rim feel a concrete feature to compare with a disc you already grip comfortably. A class label in millimeters is not the whole disc diameter, and package dimensions do not supply a measured rim depth.
Prism Neutron Pyro combines a Neutron core and clear Proton rim in one disc. Those materials belong to different parts, so they are not competing descriptions of the same component. This construction is a different choice from Eclipse Hex’s glow material, not a two-disc pack or a different Pyro stamp alone.
Choose how you want the plastic to feel and wear
Base Battleship emphasizes grip, while Sport Gladius is described as a durability-oriented premium blend. DX Roc provides another grip-and-wear choice: its description specifically discusses using the same mold at different wear stages for different turn. Choose that progression deliberately if a familiar mold changing with use suits your bag.
Eclipse Hex adds glow material as a separate reason to choose a version. Halo Star Fox and Rollo add a two-tone blend whose maker describes a difference from standard Star. Keep those material-specific descriptions with the mold rather than applying one universal plastic-to-flight correction.
Keep the selected weight and colors part of the purchase
The selected Halo Star Fox is 175–177g, Rollo 165–169g, and the Hex/Pyro examples 175–180g. These offer ranges let you compare actual versions without treating a manufacturer’s full possible mass range as the disc that will arrive.
Mystery color, varying stamps and a transparent rim describe appearance choices with their own scope. They do not identify a measured gram weight. If replacing a known disc is the goal, keep the exact mold, blend and selected range together before comparing a second model.
Examples in this department
Explore these models to compare their features, included parts and intended uses.
When rollers or sweeping turnovers are the missing task. Fox names woods shots, controlled turnovers and standstill approaches instead.
Does Prism Neutron mean two discs?
No. Pyro combines a Neutron core and Proton rim in one disc.
Why choose a baseline material that changes with wear?
The DX Roc description gives a practical example: using one familiar mold at different wear stages to obtain different turn. Choose that progression rather than assuming it never changes.
Should a class label determine my grip fit?
Use the stated profile as context and compare a familiar rim. A class number is not a hand-size measurement or a separately measured rim depth.
