Choose a target by transport format and practice area
Choose a temporary setup or a narrower practice target
Begin with where the target will be used and how you will put it away. A metal target that separates into sections, a folding fabric-tray design and a narrow training target are different purchases. Chain count alone does not answer the storage question or guarantee a higher catch rate.
MVP Black Hole Lite and Precision, Yaheetech’s 12-chain target, HIAARO’s folding 16-chain model, Innova DISCatcher Traveler and GrowTheSport Elite V2 provide six real formats to compare. Any competition-approval claim needs exact model confirmation separately; it is not used here as a performance ranking.
Compare full assemblies rather than loose section counts
Black Hole Lite lists 24 lightweight chains and six assembly pieces: base, lower pole, cage, upper pole, chain rack and top cap. Three optional ground stakes are included. Six pieces make one target, not six baskets.
Yaheetech likewise describes a six-piece assembly with 12 galvanized chains and three ground anchors. Its selected overall dimensions are 25.2 × 25.2 × 52.8 inches, while the basket is separately described as 64 cm/25.2 inches. Use the overall profile for placement and the separately named basket dimension for that part; do not call either the chain-area diameter without evidence.
Choose the folding carrying package when breakdown matters
HIAARO uses an umbrella-style assembly, 16 zinc-coated chains and a supplied storage bag, with three zinc-coated ground spikes. The seller states 14.6 lb and a collapsed 25-inch form. The 25-inch label is storage sizing, not an assembled-height claim.
Innova DISCatcher Traveler has 12 steel chains, a mesh basket tray, five legs, a matching tote and a removable flag. Its one-action setup is another transport choice rather than the same sectioned metal design. The stated item masses differ between its description and generic details, so confirm weight if carrying it a long way is the deciding factor.
Use the narrow target only when that is the practice choice
Black Hole Precision describes a 13-inch band diameter and 12-inch chain-tier diameter for a narrower target area. It has 12 course-weighted chains and a six-piece assembly with three optional ground stakes.
Those dimensions refer to the band and chain tier, not the base footprint or an ordinary basket opening. Choose Precision because you want that narrower aiming format; it is not simply a smaller-price version of Lite or a promise that another target will catch the same throws.
Read carrying cases and chains as different contents
GrowTheSport Elite V2 describes 27 stainless-steel chains, a powder-coated steel basket/top ring, pre-attached chains and tool-free assembly. Ground stakes are named as included. The carrying case is described as optional, so it should not be assumed to come with the target.
The chain materials and assembly details let you compare the complete product. They do not prove weatherproof storage forever, or turn a claimed championship designation into an independently confirmed approval for the selected variant.
Plan where the target stays between sessions
The Traveler description explicitly says it is not intended for permanent outdoor installation. That is a useful distinction when choosing a temporary backyard or travel setup. General rust-resistant or weather-resistant wording on another model does not supply a permanent-installation instruction.
Compare assembled placement, collapsed storage, carrying contents and the actual surface instructions before ordering. The sources here do not provide one common washing, chemical or maintenance schedule. Keep exact care and long-term use instructions with the selected target rather than inventing a routine from the metal or chain count.
Questions before you choose
Do six assembly pieces mean six baskets?
No. They are sections of one target on the cited Lite, Precision and Yaheetech assemblies.
Is HIAARO 25 inches tall when in use?
The 25-inch wording is its collapsed storage form, not a stated assembled height.
Does GrowTheSport include a carrying case?
Its contents describe the case as optional. Do not assume it is supplied.
Can the Traveler be left installed permanently outside?
Its description says it is not intended for permanent outdoor installation.
